Lee Young-ae Discusses Her Daughter's Aspiring Idol Dreams and Parenting Insights

Renowned actress Lee Young-ae recently opened up about her middle school daughter's potential debut in the entertainment industry.

On October 8, Lee Young-ae appeared on the YouTube channel 'Jjanhyung Shin Dong-yup' alongside her co-stars Kim Young-kwang and Park Yong-woo from the new KBS 2TV weekend drama 'Eunsoo's Good Day'.

During the show, Lee discussed her 15-year-old twins, revealing, "My son and daughter are very different. My son takes after his father, while my daughter is more like me. She's very interested in becoming an idol and has been attending auditions." Her daughter is currently studying vocal music at Sunhwa Arts Middle School.

Lee Young-ae, known for being a fan of BTS, shared that she doesn't discourage her daughter's dreams, saying, "I don't want her to say later, 'I couldn't do it because of mom,' so I let her be." She also enjoys attending concerts with her daughter, including those of TXT and BoA.

However, Lee expressed concern, saying, "I think my daughter sees the glamorous side of being a celebrity and doesn't realize the hard work behind it."

Lee also shared her apprehensions about her children experimenting with alcohol, saying, "I'm worried they might think, 'Should I try drinking too?'" This prompted Shin Dong-yup to humorously remark, "If that's the case, my kids should already be in juvenile detention," encouraging Lee to treat her children as individuals.

Lee also mentioned needing her husband's approval for certain decisions, to which Shin Dong-yup jokingly addressed Lee's husband, expressing his desire to become closer friends.

Shin Dong-yup further added, "Once the kids are older, maybe we can have a drink together," hinting at a more relaxed future.

Lee insisted on a disclaimer, "Please add a caption saying 'Minors do not drink alcohol,'" which led to Kim Young-kwang humorously pointing out, "In our drama, we sell drugs," causing laughter on set.

Lee Young-ae received praise from Kim Young-kwang for her "captivating and persuasive voice," to which she admitted, "When scolding the kids, I do raise my voice to ensure my sincerity is conveyed."
