Comedian Kim Kyu-won Joins CP Entertainment, Expanding His Horizons with SNL Korea Fame

Entertainer Kim Kyu-won has signed an exclusive contract with CP Entertainment, a subsidiary of Coupang specializing in comprehensive entertainment. With this move, Kim joins the ranks of fellow entertainers Shin Dong-yup, Lee Soo-ji, and Ji Ye-eun.

Kim Kyu-won made a significant impression on viewers through Coupang Play's comedy show 'SNL Korea' Season 5. His fearless parodies and realistic portrayals in Seasons 6 and 7 have kept him at the center of attention. His uncanny ability to mimic characters with chilling detail earned him the nickname 'Male Lee Soo-ji.'

In particular, his parody of the 'Black and White Chef' segment showcased his ability to perfectly replicate gestures and speech patterns, leaving audiences in awe. In the 'Weekend Update' segment, he portrayed North Korean defector expert 'Kim Jung-eung' with remarkable accuracy. Additionally, in the popular Season 7 segment 'Smile Clinic,' set in a dermatology office, Kim Kyu-won stood out with his unique presence. The segment, known for its subtle power struggles among staff and realistic dialogue, elicited laughter, while Kim's performance as a customer requesting uncharted procedures added tension and humor, earning him praise.

Kim Kyu-won officially debuted in 2023 with the variety show 'Comedy Big League,' using 'SNL Korea' as a springboard for his career. He is celebrated for his creative ideas that enhance the show's segments and his charming visuals.

Kim expressed his excitement about signing with the esteemed CP Entertainment, stating, "I'm thrilled to have signed an exclusive contract with CP Entertainment, which has a rich history with 'SNL Korea.' Currently, Shin Dong-yup, Lee Soo-ji, Ji Ye-eun, and Kim Kyu-won are part of the roster. Notable productions include Coupang Play's 'SNL Korea' and 'Office Workers.'
