Netflix's 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' Triumphs at 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards

'When Life Gives You Tangerines' took home the Grand Prize at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards.

The prestigious event was held on the 18th at Paradise City in Incheon and was broadcast live on KBS 2TV. The ceremony was hosted by broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo and singer-actress Yoona.

The Grand Prize was presented by actress Jeon Do-yeon. The Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' was the recipient of the top honor. Representatives from the production company Pan Entertainment, Netflix, and actors Choi Dae-hoon, Lee Jun-young, and Park Bo-gum joined on stage to celebrate the win. In addition to the Grand Prize, 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' also saw IU winning Best Actress, Yeom Hye-ran taking Best Supporting Actress, and both Park Bo-gum and IU receiving Popular Star Awards.

In her acceptance speech for Best Actress, IU expressed, "'When Life Gives You Tangerines' is a work that will be the greatest pride of my life. I dedicate my respect and gratitude to all the Aesoonis who lived their lives vividly in a world that demanded them to live vaguely, and to all the Geumyeongs who steadfastly planted and nurtured their ambitions everywhere."

The Best Drama Award went to the Netflix series 'Trauma Center.' The series also saw Joo Ji-hoon winning Best Actor and Choo Young-woo taking the Best New Actor award, making it a triple crown winner. Joo Ji-hoon shared his gratitude, saying, "Thank you to everyone who loves Korean content. Adapting a comic into a video is a challenging task, and I am grateful to everyone who made it a success."

In the variety category, 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War' won Best Variety Show. The production team stated, "This was possible thanks to judges Baek Jong-won, Ahn Sung-jae, Chef Yoon Nam-no, 100 chefs, and 300 staff members. We are working on Season 2 and look forward to showcasing many delicious restaurants and excellent chefs."

Kian84 from 'Crazy Kianjang' and Lee Soo-ji from 'SNL Korea Seasons 6 & 7' won the Best Male and Female Entertainer Awards, respectively. The Best New Entertainer Awards went to Moon Sang-hoon and Mimi.
