Actress Lee Si-young Deletes Social Media Post Announcing Second Pregnancy Amid Controversy

On October 8, Lee Si-young shared the news of her pregnancy on her social media. She revealed, "During my marriage, I prepared for a second child through IVF. However, I got divorced without implanting the fertilized embryo, and as the five-year storage period for the frozen embryo is nearing its end, I had to make a decision."
She continued, "Facing the disposal deadline, I decided to proceed with the implantation. Although my ex-husband did not agree, I am willing to bear the full responsibility of my decision." Lee expressed gratitude, saying, "I humbly accept any criticism or advice. I am thankful to the baby who has come to me again, and I will live responsibly to ensure nothing is lacking."
Public reactions to Lee Si-young's pregnancy were mixed. Some praised her courageous decision, while others raised legal and ethical concerns, particularly regarding the IVF procedure conducted without her ex-husband's consent. As the controversy grew, Lee Si-young removed the post from her social media.
Lee Si-young married a businessman nine years her senior in 2017 and welcomed a son the following year. She divorced in March after eight years of marriage.
