Actress Lee Mi-sook Addresses Younger Man Scandal on YouTube

On October 7, the YouTube channel 'Jjanhanyoung Shin Dong-yup' released a video titled 'Clearing Up the Rumors About My Preference for Younger Men!'.
In the video, Lee Mi-sook expressed, "People don't really know me. They think I only like younger men." To this, Shin Dong-yup humorously added, "She likes both older and younger men."
Back in 2012, Lee Mi-sook was embroiled in a controversy involving an inappropriate relationship with a man 17 years her junior, who worked at a host bar. Her former agency had exposed her private life. Lee Mi-sook countered, "This is defamation and a personal attack. Before being a celebrity, I am a mother to a grown son and a wife, living without shame."

She continued, "People don't listen to explanations and just label me as 'that kind of person' with the title 'younger man.' They brand me with words. I take solace in knowing I haven't lost my charm as a woman."
Emphasizing that "it's something that can happen to anyone," Lee Mi-sook remarked, "Because we are celebrities, people scrutinize us. I see it as something that will pass. Isn't it better to be with someone younger than older?"

Meanwhile, Lee Mi-sook humorously commented on her co-star Song Seung-heon from 'East of Eden,' where they played mother and son, "He's a good person. Why did we have to meet as mother and son? I have a lot of personal interest," she joked, adding, "I wanted to let my hair down, but the director stopped me."
