Kim Woo-bin's Heartfelt Support for Actor Jin Tae-hyun's Cancer Battle
Actor Jin Tae-hyun recently underwent thyroid cancer surgery, and unexpectedly, model and actor Kim Woo-bin reached out to support him. Despite not knowing each other personally, Kim Woo-bin extended a kind gesture to encourage his senior in the entertainment industry.
On October 24, Jin Tae-hyun shared the news of his surgery on Instagram, expressing, "I am at peace," and added, "Thanks to everyone's concern, the cancer cells in my body are now gone."
He particularly highlighted, "I received many words of encouragement before the surgery, but I am especially grateful to my fellow actor Kim Woo-bin, whom I have never met." Jin Tae-hyun expressed his gratitude, saying, "Even though we have never interacted, I am thankful for Woo-bin's personal support in helping me overcome this illness."
Kim Woo-bin's thoughtful gesture inspired Jin Tae-hyun to cherish the support and strive to be a good senior in the entertainment industry.
He wrote, "Visiting the path you always took to see me for the last farewell made me realize how far and difficult it was," adding, "I won't think of it as a goodbye. When we meet again, let's take many photos and share the stories we couldn't before."
It was reported that Kim Woo-bin personally attended the fan's memorial service. The fan's sibling expressed gratitude on social media, saying, "The wreath you sent was a great comfort, and your presence was a huge solace to our family. Thank you for coming such a long way to bid farewell to my sister."
In August 2024, it was revealed that Kim Woo-bin sent a floral tribute to the memorial of the late Song Gil-yong, who passed away without finding his daughter after 25 years of searching. According to the National Missing Children's Family Association, Song Gil-yong died in a traffic accident while driving a truck for collecting scrap, his means of livelihood.
Kim Woo-bin, moved by the news, sent the floral tribute personally, unbeknownst to his agency. A representative from his agency stated, "We learned about it only after receiving inquiries."
Additionally, Kim Woo-bin has been anonymously donating to support low-income youth since 2014 and has consistently participated in donation drives during national disasters like COVID-19, wildfires, and floods. His long-time partner, actress Shin Min-a, also engages in charitable activities.
