It has been nine years since the passing of actor Kim Sung-min, born in 1973.

Kim Sung-min was found unconscious at his home on June 26, 2016, and was rushed to the hospital, where he was ultimately declared brain-dead. He passed away at the age of 43.

In accordance with his wishes, his family decided to donate his organs, giving new life to five patients.

This year marks the ninth anniversary of Kim Sung-min's passing. Despite being embroiled in a drug scandal, he left a meaningful legacy through his final act of organ donation.

Kim Sung-min debuted as a commercial model in 1991 and gained recognition through dramas such as 'Mermaid Lady,' 'The King Flower Fairy,' and 'Couple or Trouble.' He was especially loved for his candid charm on the variety show 'Happy Sunday - Qualifications of Men.'

However, in 2010, he was sentenced to probation for drug use, leading to a hiatus from broadcasting. He returned in 2012 with the drama 'Can We Get Married?' but faced another drug charge in 2015, resulting in a 10-month prison sentence and a fine.

Kim Sung-min was released from prison in January 2016, but tragically ended his life about five months later, leaving behind a sense of sorrow.
