BLACKPINK's Jennie Wins Lawsuit Against Man Falsely Claiming to Be Her Father

According to a report on the 18th, the Uijeongbu District Court in Goyang ruled on September 9th that "Mr. A's claim of being Jennie's biological father is false." The court also ordered Mr. A and publishing company B to "destroy all copies of the book" and instructed Mr. A to refrain from mentioning Jennie on his personal social media accounts.
The controversy began with a novel published by Mr. A, which included Jennie's logo on the cover and prologue, falsely asserting that Jennie was his daughter. This claim spread among BLACKPINK fans, leading to speculation about Jennie's family background.
Jennie's team, initially silent, announced through her agency, OA Entertainment, in September last year that they would take strong action to prevent the spread of such fake news. Subsequently, in December, they hired a major law firm and filed a lawsuit on December 24th against Mr. A and publishing company B, seeking a ban on the distribution of the publication.
The court viewed this case as a claim related to personal rights (honor rights), distinct from property rights, and did not issue a provisional execution order. While no fines were imposed on the defendants, Mr. A was ordered to bear the costs associated with the lawsuit.
