Kim Soo-hyun Clarifies Misunderstandings Over Legal Fees in Lawsuit Against Late Kim Sae-ron's Family

Actor Kim Soo-hyun has addressed reports regarding unpaid legal fees in his lawsuit against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron. Kim's agency, Gold Medalist, clarified on the 17th that all necessary fees, including the court fee and delivery charges, have been fully paid, countering claims of non-payment.

Previously, a media outlet reported that the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 14, presided over by Judge Jeong Ha-jeong, issued an order on the 2nd for Kim's side to correct the court fee and delivery charges. This order typically indicates a need to amend errors in the lawsuit documents.

According to the report, Kim initially announced a lawsuit seeking 12 billion KRW in damages, but the filed lawsuit amount was listed as 11 billion KRW. Consequently, the court ordered a correction of this discrepancy and instructed that the fees be paid based on the 12 billion KRW figure. The report also suggested that Kim's request for an extension on the 16th was an attempt to delay the payment of these fees.

In response, Kim's representatives stated, "The lawsuit was filed with the amount of 12 billion KRW from the start, and the extension request was solely for correcting the defendant's address."

The court fee is a legal charge calculated based on the claim amount in civil lawsuits, increasing proportionally with the claim size. Delivery charges cover the cost of sending legal documents to involved parties. Given Kim's lawsuit amount of 12 billion KRW, the estimated court fee and delivery charges are approximately 38 million KRW.
