IU Praises Park Bo-gum and Reflects on Her Role in Netflix's 'You Have Done Well'

IU recently appeared on the YouTube channel 'Baek Eun-ha's Exchange' to discuss her experience working with Park Bo-gum in the Netflix series 'You Have Done Well'.

During the interview, IU shared her favorite line from the series, highlighting Gwan-sik's confession, "This is a silent scream." She explained, "That line encapsulated the meaning of 'I will become the person you want.' It was such a powerful confession that I almost lost my breath when I read the script."

She also expressed her admiration for a particular scene where Ae-soon tells Gwan-sik, "I need to pay for my clothes," describing it as a simple yet profound line that left a deep impression on her. "I really wanted to do that scene. It was incredible," she added.

IU praised Park Bo-gum, saying, "He's like a real gem. His eyes are filled with melancholy. He's a deep and pure person, and that depth is visible in his eyes." She continued, "His eyes were ones that cried with me. Just looking at them brought out my emotions. Ae-soon is a character who constantly needs to cry, and thanks to Bo-gum, my emotions naturally surfaced."

Reflecting on her role in 'You Have Done Well', IU remarked, "It's a huge fortune for an actor to have the opportunity to portray various age ranges. I felt like I hit the jackpot with this role."

IU confessed that she is more influenced by her roles than she expected, saying, "After playing Ae-soon, for about two years, people often asked if something good happened or commented that I seemed brighter. I think that influence still lingers."

Concluding the interview, IU shared, "Singing, writing songs, acting, and speaking in front of the TV are the biggest reasons I believe I was born. I consider this work my calling. I feel like I was born to do this." She emphasized, "I always keep in mind the people who watch me express someone else's life. I never take it lightly."
