HYBE America Partners with YouTube Sensation Alan Chikin Chow to Launch Next-Gen Pop Group
HYBE America has recently entered into a global partnership with Alan Chikin Chow, the creator and storyteller behind 'Alan's Universe.' On November 4th, they announced the establishment of an innovative label, HYBE AMERICA x AU, which will encompass both drama and music.
Alan will serve as the executive producer and co-head of the label HYBE AMERICA x AU. He will be joined by James Shin, President of HYBE America's Film and TV division, and CEO Scooter Braun in leading the new venture.
Alan is a YouTube Shorts creator boasting approximately 1 billion views monthly. His YouTube channel, 'Alan's Universe,' has surpassed 88.8 million subscribers. The web drama series 'Alan's Universe' focuses on themes of love, friendship, and values among teenagers, and has garnered over 700 million cumulative views across various platforms, achieving explosive popularity.
The first project of HYBE AMERICA x AU will kick off with a global talent audition. Aspiring participants aged 18 to 28 can upload singing or dancing videos on YouTube Shorts using the designated hashtag (#HYBEAMERICAxAU). Nationality is not a barrier.
Through this audition, HYBE AMERICA x AU aims to discover versatile new artists to work alongside Alan. Following the selection of members, an intensive development program combining Alan's content expertise with HYBE's K-pop training system will be conducted in the U.S. The new group will debut through the original 'Alan's Universe' series, which depicts the story of aspiring idols who decide to form a band after enrolling in an arts academy.
The collaboration between Alan, a pioneer in digital content and storytelling, and HYBE, with its unparalleled music infrastructure, is expected to mark a milestone in the future of entertainment. The intriguing narrative of a fictional music group rising to become real-life global pop stars will be tailored to resonate with the current generation's sensibilities.
