Controversy Boosts 'Real' to Top 2 on Netflix Korea

According to Netflix on the 1st, the movie 'Real', starring Kim Soo-hyun and the late Sulli, has climbed to the second spot in the Top 10 Korean films. The first place is held by 'Revelation', followed by 'Real', and 'The Electric State' in third.
The renewed interest in 'Real' seems to be linked to recent controversies surrounding Kim Soo-hyun's personal life, along with allegations that Sulli, the film's leading actress, was pressured into filming explicit scenes during production.
Released in 2017, 'Real' follows the story of Jang Tae-young, a crime boss facing the threat of losing his casino 'Siesta'. The plot thickens as Jo Won-geun, a powerful figure in the underworld, appears, prompting Jang Tae-young to seek investors to resolve financial issues. Kim Soo-hyun plays dual roles as both Jang Tae-young and a mysterious investor.
On the 31st, Kim Soo-hyun held a press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to address and deny allegations related to Kim Sae-ron, which were raised by the YouTube channel Gaseyeon. Present at the conference were Kim Soo-hyun and his legal representative, Kim Jong-bok from the law firm LKB & Partners.
