K-Pop Star Wheesung Laid to Rest Amidst Fans and Colleagues' Farewell

The funeral service took place at 6:20 AM on the 16th at the Seoul Samsung Hospital funeral hall. Despite the rain, approximately 130 people, including music industry colleagues, family, and fans, gathered to pay their respects.
The service began with an introduction of Wheesung's life and a speech from his brother, Choi Hyuk-sung, who said, "Though Wheesung's physical presence has left us, his music and spiritual life will remain eternal. Until the day his songs are sung again, he will live on with us."
Actress Kim Na-un, who had a long-standing connection with Wheesung since he sang at her wedding in 2005, expressed her condolences, saying, "Wheesung will forever remain our artist." The fan club president also tearfully remembered Wheesung, stating, "His music has been a source of hope and comfort for 23 years, and the love his music gave to fans will last forever."
Following the eulogies, a video of Wheesung's performances was shown, accompanied by the song 'The Day We Meet Again.' Fans bid their final farewell, unable to hold back their tears. Choi Hyuk-sung expressed his hope that Wheesung's music would continue to resonate with future generations, bridging the gap between them.

Wheesung debuted in 2002 with 'Can't We' and became a leading figure in R&B music with hits like 'With Me,' 'I Thought of Marriage,' 'Incurable Disease,' and 'Insomnia.' He was also a successful lyricist and producer, contributing to hits like Younha's 'Password 486' and Ailee's 'Heaven.'
Wheesung was found deceased on October 10th in an apartment in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. He has now found eternal rest amidst the mourning of fans and colleagues.
