Autopsy Scheduled for Late R&B Artist Wheesung Amidst Ongoing Investigation
The autopsy of the late R&B artist Wheesung is set to take place, with the National Forensic Service (NFS) aiming to uncover the cause of death, which remains shrouded in mystery.

On the morning of the 12th, the NFS will conduct an autopsy on Wheesung's body. Given the discovery of a syringe at the scene of his death, the investigation will focus on determining whether drugs were involved.

Following the confirmation of Wheesung's death, police investigated for signs of external intrusion but reportedly found no evidence of foul play. They are currently checking for a suicide note and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, including a forensic analysis of his cellphone.

Wheesung was scheduled to perform a joint ballad concert with fellow singer KCM in Daegu on the 15th. In his last social media post, he shared his diet progress for the concert, expressing his anticipation by saying, "See you then."

According to police and his agency, Wheesung was found collapsed at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at around 6:29 PM on the 10th. His mother discovered him and called emergency services.

Wheesung was a pivotal figure in popularizing the R&B genre in the early 2000s. He debuted in 2002 with the hit "Can't We" and went on to release numerous hits such as "With Me," "The Day We Meet Again," "Incurable Disease," and "I Thought About Marriage."

In 2019, Wheesung received a suspended prison sentence for multiple instances of propofol use, which led to a ban from KBS broadcasts and negatively impacted his television career. He had since focused on live performances.
