Korean Broadcaster Kim Shin-young Apologizes Again Over Virtual Idol Flave Remarks

During her show on MBC FM4U, 'Kim Shin-young's Noon Song of Hope,' she mentioned Flave's new song 'DASH' while delivering music chart updates. Acknowledging the recent controversy, Kim detailed, "Flave has five members: Eunho, Yejun, and Noah compose the music, while Bambi and Hamin create the choreography. They make their own songs. I've been memorizing their names lately," drawing attention with her detailed explanation of the group.
Kim Shin-young directly addressed the controversy, saying, "My niece was upset and told me to learn from her," adding, "My niece is my Flave teacher," with emphasis.
Previously, Kim had sparked controversy among Flave fans by expressing her difficulty in understanding the virtual idol system during her radio show. She candidly stated, "Honestly, Flave can't appear on our show. It would be a reality check. You can't see them, right? We need to accept this culture, but not yet," leading to backlash from fans.
Following the incident, Flave fans expressed strong disapproval and discomfort. Kim Shin-young admitted, "It was beyond ignorance; it was rude. I was very rude. Fans who support them should have had a good weekend, but I deeply feel the weight and responsibility of my words. I will study more to prevent this from happening again. I will learn and come back," she said, bowing her head in apology.
