Kangin, Former Super Junior Member, Announces Comeback with New Single Amid Controversy
On October 6, Kangin shared an interview video on his YouTube channel, revealing the upcoming release of 'LOVE IS PAIN'. He mentioned that the song, which was previously only performed at fan meetings, will now be officially released. Kangin expressed that the support from his fans encouraged him to make this comeback.
Kangin had faced public backlash due to two DUI incidents in 2009 and 2016, as well as assault allegations, leading to his official departure from Super Junior in 2019. After a hiatus, he began engaging with fans through YouTube and fan meetings in 2023, carefully planning his return to the spotlight.
Public opinion remains divided over his comeback. While some argue that his past actions make his return inappropriate, others believe he has taken sufficient time to reflect and support his decision to resume his career. Kangin is expected to continue his activities following the release of his new single.
