The mother of Taiwanese actress Xu Xiyuan (also known as Barbie Hsu), Huang Chunmei, has declared a public feud against Xu's ex-husband, businessman Wang Xiaofei. This announcement comes in the wake of Xu's recent passing.

According to Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday, Huang Chunmei broke her silence on the 10th, expressing her grief and determination to seek justice. She stated, "How can I fill the empty space in my heart? I do not believe justice cannot be restored. I will go to war. Please support me." This statement is seen as a declaration of war against Wang Xiaofei and his family.

Fans have rallied behind Huang Chunmei, urging unity in seeking justice for Xu Xiyuan.

Reports indicate that Wang Xiaofei returned to Beijing with his new wife on the 11th, leaving his two children with Xu in Taiwan. He did not attend Xu's funeral.

Public criticism of Wang Xiaofei has been harsh, with many accusing him of insensitivity. He was seen walking in the rain without an umbrella upon hearing of Xu's death, and false rumors circulated about his mother covering funeral expenses and chartering a flight from Japan to Taiwan.

As a result, Wang Xiaofei and his mother Zhang Lan have faced backlash on Chinese social media platforms like Weibo and TikTok, leading to their accounts being indefinitely suspended.

A netizen previously alleged that Wang Xiaofei and his mother were in debt to the tune of $142 million and had set up a trust in Taiwan under a relative's name to hide and launder money, causing a public stir.

Xu Xiyuan reportedly owned at least two luxury properties, valued at approximately 600 million Taiwanese dollars. Under Taiwanese law, her two children are entitled to inherit two-thirds of her estate, with Wang Xiaofei as their legal guardian.

Media outlets suggest that Wang Xiaofei could potentially control part of Xu's estate, predicting further legal battles.

Lawyers have identified Xu's mother as a key figure in the estate distribution, noting that she has the right to request the suspension of Wang Xiaofei's guardianship until the children reach adulthood. However, Wang Xiaofei retains the right to appeal for guardianship restoration, indicating ongoing legal disputes.

Meanwhile, Xu's current husband, Koo Jun-yup, has vowed to protect Xu's family and children from Wang Xiaofei. He announced on social media that he intends to grant all rights over Xu's estate to her mother, ensuring that the children's inheritance is safeguarded from "bad people" until they reach adulthood.

Koo Jun-yup also criticized Wang Xiaofei and his family, accusing them of exploiting the family's grief and spreading false information about insurance and expenses.

Xu Xiyuan passed away on February 2nd from acute pneumonia while on a family trip to Japan for the Lunar New Year. Her estate is estimated to be worth around 600 million yuan.

Xu married Wang Xiaofei in 2011 and had a son and daughter with him before their divorce in November 2021. She later married Koo Jun-yup on February 8, 2022.
