K-Pop Absent from the 67th Grammy Awards: A Recap

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 3rd, hosted by South African actor Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive year.

The event saw global music icons like Beyoncé, who led with 11 nominations, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, and Jacob Collier vying for top honors.

Performances by Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, Benson Boone, Charli XCX, Doechii, Shakira, and Sabrina Carpenter lit up the stage.

However, K-Pop artists were notably absent from both the nominee list and the performance lineup. To date, no K-Pop artist has won a Grammy, with BTS being the only group to have been nominated. BTS first appeared as presenters at the 61st Grammy Awards and performed a special stage at the 62nd. They delivered solo performances at the 63rd and 64th ceremonies and were nominated for three consecutive years from the 63rd to the 65th Grammys.

This year's ceremony also aimed to raise funds for recovery efforts following the recent large-scale wildfires in Los Angeles and to honor the dedication of firefighters.
