Lee Seung-gi Spreads Warmth with Tteokguk Sharing Event for the Vulnerable
Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi participated in a heartwarming tteokguk sharing event for the homeless and vulnerable communities at the Ddaseuhanchaeumteo, a free meal facility near Seoul Station, on the 17th. The event was organized in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross, led by Chairman Kim Chul-soo.

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, the event aimed to spread the culture of sharing within the community and extend warmth to those in need. Participants included Lee Seung-gi, the Korean Red Cross ambassador, Chairman Kim Chul-soo, Seoul City Council Chairman Choi Ho-jung, Talent Sharing Volunteer Society President Lee Jung-ha, and university RCY members.

Lee Seung-gi and the participants prepared and served 200 meals consisting of beef bone soup with rice cakes and dumplings, pork kimchi stir-fry, and fruit cups, creating a warm festive atmosphere. Additionally, they distributed 200 pairs of gloves to help attendees combat the winter chill.

Lee Seung-gi, who was appointed as the Korean Red Cross ambassador on January 7th, demonstrated his commitment by participating in this volunteer activity just 10 days after his appointment. He expressed, "As the Korean Red Cross ambassador, I am honored to participate in the New Year's tteokguk sharing event. Every time I volunteer, I realize how many people in our society need help. I urge many to join in sharing warmth through volunteering."

Chairman Kim Chul-soo of the Korean Red Cross stated, "It was truly meaningful to share warmth with those in need during the Lunar New Year. The Red Cross will continue to strive to support the underprivileged."

Ddaseuhanchaeumteo, operated by the Korean Red Cross since May 2022, provides free meals twice a day to approximately 130,000 people annually, including the homeless and vulnerable groups. Currently, 11 organizations participate in meal service volunteering at this facility.

Meanwhile, Lee Seung-gi tied the knot with actress Lee Da-in in April 2023 and welcomed their first daughter in February last year. Lee Da-in previously garnered attention by sharing a profile picture of their daughter crawling, and Lee Seung-gi was spotted visiting a hospital with his daughter in a baby carrier, drawing public interest.
