Remembering SHINee's Jonghyun: 7 Years Since His Passing
It has been seven years since Jonghyun, a beloved member of the K-pop group SHINee, became a star in the sky.
On December 18, SM Entertainment shared a heartfelt message, "We always love you," along with a photo on SHINee's official channels. Fans flocked to the account to express their love and remembrance for the late artist.
Jonghyun passed away on December 18, 2017, at the age of 27.
He debuted as the main vocalist of SHINee in 2008 and gained immense popularity with hits like "Replay," "Love Like Oxygen," "Ring Ding Dong," and "Lucifer."
Beyond his vocal talents, Jonghyun was also a gifted songwriter and composer. He contributed to numerous tracks, including SHINee's "Juliette," IU's "Gloomy Clock," Taemin's "Pretty Boy," and Lee Hi's "Breathe." Following his passing, Jonghyun's family established the non-profit foundation "Shinin" in 2018. The foundation uses the royalties from Jonghyun's works to support and encourage the growth and development of artists dedicated to cultural and artistic activities.
