Korean Singer Gil Shares Unique Meditation Video Amidst Ongoing Controversy
Korean singer Gil (real name Gil Seong-jun, 46) has recently shared an intriguing update, showcasing himself meditating with an octopus on his bald head. Having transitioned into a YouTuber, Gil is now engaging with the public through his unique content. His absence from the 20th-anniversary events of the popular variety show 'Infinite Challenge,' which boasts a massive fanbase, has drawn significant attention.
Through his YouTube channel 'Shining Gil Seong-jun,' Gil released a 4-minute and 44-second video titled '5-Minute Meditation - Start of the Day/Clear Mind Meditation/Morning Meditation/Laughter Therapy/Stress Relief.'
In the video, Gil visits a fish market and meditates with an octopus on his head. He begins his meditation by saying, "Namaste. Hello. Today, we will meditate in a special place. This place is busy and noisy, but within that noise, we can find our own peace and tranquility. Just like how we can pause in our busy lives, take a breath, and listen to our inner voice," as he starts meditating on the fish market floor.
Gil continues, "Create your own space amidst the market's noise and people's conversations. Let the sounds of the market, like crashing waves, pass by like clouds. The smell of the floor beneath your feet, the cries of the vendors, and the sound of seafood being placed on the ground all come together like music," focusing deeply on his meditation.
He adds, "Tranquility is not found externally. It is something you can draw from within. You already know the answer. Even when life slips, we breathe and endure. In the whirlpool of life, we meditate and accept the flow." He concludes, "In sadness and pain, there is tranquility. We feel it and fully accept the moment. The world may shake us, but we simply breathe through the discomfort. In that, we find our inner peace. We find our center again. Now, slowly open your eyes and prepare to return to your daily life. May tranquility be with you in your busy life. Shine, shine, sunshine."
Additionally, Gil has shared his musical insights through a segment called 'Gil's Memories,' where he introduces the American group Wu-Tang Clan.
Previously, Gil faced significant public backlash due to his three DUI offenses, which led to his exclusion from various events and projects related to the 20th anniversary of 'Infinite Challenge.' His YouTube channel currently has around 4,000 subscribers.
Gil was first caught for drunk driving in 2004 and again in 2014. In 2017, he was once more apprehended for driving under the influence while intoxicated, resulting in a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years and 80 hours of community service.
