GFRIEND Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Explosive Popularity and Upcoming Concerts
The group, consisting of Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji, kicked off their anniversary celebrations with a performance on the YouTube channel Dingo Music's 'Killing Voice.' The video quickly soared to the top of Korea's trending videos chart the day after its release on the 11th and maintained its position as of the morning of the 13th. Fans flooded the comments with warm messages like, "Time that had stopped is flowing again," "Even after a long time, the melody and lyrics come to mind as soon as the intro plays," and "GFRIEND was my youth," highlighting the anticipation for their full-group activities.
International fans also welcomed GFRIEND's dazzling return. Their 'Killing Voice' appearance ranked high on trending video charts in countries and regions such as Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. As of the morning of the 13th, the video had surpassed 2.85 million views on YouTube, fueled by the explosive interest of the global K-pop fandom.
On the 10th, GFRIEND connected with fans in real-time via a live session on the global superfan platform Weverse, hinting at recent activities yet to be revealed. The six members, who have 'run through time' to reunite with their fans, promise to deliver satisfaction through their trusted music, performances, and diverse content.
Meanwhile, GFRIEND is set to perform at the '39th Golden Disc Awards' on December 5th at the Fukuoka PayPay Dome in Japan. They will pre-release a new song on January 6th, followed by the official release of their special album 'Season of Memories' on January 13th at 6 PM. The highly anticipated solo concert will take place on January 18th and 19th at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Tickets for both shows sold out at lightning speed as soon as sales began on the 9th.
