TJ Media Announces 2024 Karaoke Chart Toppers: Lee Chang-seop's 'Cheonsangyeon' Reigns Supreme

TJ Media, the leading company in the karaoke industry, has announced the results of its 2024 year-end karaoke chart, revealing that Lee Chang-seop's 'Cheonsangyeon' has been selected as the most popular song of the year. The song surpassed BIBI's 'Bamyanggaeng' and held the top spot for 24 consecutive weeks from early April to the end of September, making it the longest-charting number one song.

Following 'Cheonsangyeon', Park Jae-jung's 'Let's Break Up' and DAY6's 'You Were Beautiful' secured the second and third spots on the chart, respectively. The fourth place went to Lim Jae-hyun's 'Rhapsody of Rain', fifth to izi's 'Emergency Room', sixth to Nerd Connection's 'If Only You Were Here', seventh to Standing Egg's 'Old Song', eighth to DAY6's 'To Be One Page', ninth to MC the Max's 'Nowhere', and tenth to QWER's 'Addicted to Worry'.

An analysis of TJ Media's top 300 chart revealed that songs trending on YouTube also experienced a resurgence in karaoke popularity. Jo Young-nam's 'Hwagae Market' saw the most significant rise, with its play count increasing 17 times compared to last year, thanks to a viral video by YouTuber Lee Seung-bin. Additionally, Spapa (Tak Jae-hoon)'s 'It's a Relief' was sung six times more than last year after a duet video with I'll surpassed 4.5 million views on YouTube.

In response to the diverse popularity of various genres, TJ Media updated over 4,000 new songs this year, offering a wide range of selections from children's songs like Hatchuping to musical numbers from Chicago and Hedwig. They also produced over 120 MR tracks featuring live orchestras and guitarists, enhancing the quality of karaoke accompaniments.

A TJ Media representative stated, "In the first half of the year, male ballads, including 'Cheonsangyeon', dominated the top 10, while band music from groups like DAY6 and QWER became more popular in the latter half. The public's taste is changing rapidly, and we aim to meet these demands by providing the highest number of new songs in the industry next year to increase user satisfaction."
