According to the post, Lim Young-woong had shared a celebratory post for his pet dog Siwol's birthday on October 7, which sparked the DM exchange. The netizen criticized Lim, saying, "What are you doing at a time like this?" and pointed out, "The entire nation is gathered over the impeachment of a president who declared martial law unconstitutionally. While no one expects you to speak out, your indifference is striking."

Lim Young-woong, allegedly responding with "What?", expressed discomfort, stating, "Am I a politician? Why should I voice my opinion?"

The identity of the netizen remains unknown, though speculation suggests they might be a PD or someone in the broadcasting industry. Additionally, it is unconfirmed whether the DM conversation actually involved Lim Young-woong. Attempts by TenAsia to reach Lim's agency, Fish Music, have been unsuccessful.

Assuming the DM exchange involved Lim Young-woong, netizens are divided. Some criticize his remarks as careless during a tumultuous time, while others argue that choosing not to voice political opinions is also a personal freedom.

With the ongoing political crisis, including the December 3 martial law incident, the controversy has potentially damaged Lim Young-woong's image. Critics argue that if the claims are unfounded, the agency should act swiftly to protect their artist's reputation. The agency's lack of response and communication with the media is seen as disappointing.
