According to Oricon on the 5th, SEVENTEEN's Japanese single 4th album 'Shohikigen (消費期限)' topped the latest 'Weekly Combined Single Ranking' (dated December 9, covering the period from November 25 to December 1). This album also ranked first on the Oricon 'Weekly Single Ranking' announced on December 3.
The 'Weekly Combined Single Ranking' combines CD sales, digital downloads, and streaming counts to determine its rankings. SEVENTEEN garnered a total of 427,343 points, including 418,000 CD sales. Oricon noted, “This is the highest weekly points recorded by a foreign artist with a single album this year.”
SEVENTEEN also set a record for the most consecutive number-one rankings by a foreign artist, with four consecutive singles starting from their 2020 release 'Fallin' Flower'.
'Shohikigen' also topped Billboard Japan's latest 'Top Single Sales' (dated December 4, covering the period from November 25 to December 1). The title track of the same name entered the 'Hot 100' at number two during the same period, showcasing SEVENTEEN's immense popularity in Japan.
SEVENTEEN is currently meeting local fans through their 'SEVENTEEN 'RIGHT HERE' WORLD TOUR IN JAPAN'. The tour, which kicked off at Vantelin Dome Nagoya on November 29-30, continued to Tokyo Dome on December 4, receiving enthusiastic responses. SEVENTEEN will perform one more show at the same venue on December 5, before moving to Kyocera Dome Osaka on December 12 and 14-15, and Fukuoka PayPay Dome on December 19 and 21-22.
