NewJeans' Hanni Responds with Stoic Emoji Following Ador's Statement
NewJeans member Hanni displayed a cryptic reaction with a 'stoic' emoji following Ador's statement.
On the 28th, it was confirmed that Hanni changed her status message on the fan communication app Phoning from 'It's snowing~' to a stoic emoji on the 27th. This change coincided with Ador's response to NewJeans' notice, suggesting it was a reaction to the statement.
Ador released a statement through official channels a day before the deadline set by NewJeans in their notice. Ador stated, "This statement is in response to the artist's notice," and added, "On October 17, we issued a statement regarding the 'manager disregard remark.' We have maintained a cautious stance to avoid unnecessary controversy involving our artists, but as the issue persists, we are clarifying Ador's position."
Ador further stated, "Belift Lab's claims are entirely different from NewJeans member Hanni's account." They continued, "Hanni clearly remembers a Belift Lab member making a remark to 'ignore' or 'pass by' her on May 27. Expecting Hanni to recall every detail of the incident to raise an issue is an excessively harsh standard for the victim."
Ador expressed their full trust in their artist's words and conveyed genuine regret for the harm Hanni experienced, aligning themselves with NewJeans' stance.
They concluded by urging Belift Lab to not take Hanni's grievances lightly and to demonstrate mutual respect, hoping for a sincere attitude to prevent further unnecessary controversies involving Ador's artists. Meanwhile, NewJeans had sent a notice to Ador on the 13th, mentioning the possibility of terminating their exclusive contract. They demanded explanations and legal actions regarding the statement in HYBE's music industry report, an official apology from the manager who told Hanni to 'ignore,' deletion of videos and photos used without consent, assessment and resolution of damages from 'album pushing,' and the return of former CEO Min Hee-jin.
Ador received the notice on the 14th and stated, "We will do our best to resolve the issue wisely and continue working with the artist."
