Singer and actor Lee Jin-hyuk has been exempted from military service due to a congenital heart condition.

On the 27th, Lee Jin-hyuk's agency, VIL Entertainment, confirmed to TenAsia that "Lee Jin-hyuk is indeed exempt from military service," but refrained from further comments.

Lee Jin-hyuk has been dealing with a congenital heart condition, specifically a malfunctioning heart valve, which required surgery during his childhood. He continues to undergo regular medical check-ups.

Lee Jin-hyuk has openly discussed his condition on television. In 2019, during an appearance on MBC's 'Radio Star,' he revealed, "I thought everyone had scars on their chest," and shared his struggles, noting, "While preparing to become an idol, I realized my stamina was much lower than others."

Lee Jin-hyuk debuted in 2015 with the group UP10TION and gained widespread popularity after appearing on Mnet's 'Produce X 101' in 2019. He has since transitioned to a solo career as a singer and actor. Recently, he appeared on JTBC's 'No Secrets' and on Coupang Play's 'SNL Korea.'
