Artist Company, home to actors like Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung, has merged with Artist United, laying the foundation for a global comprehensive entertainment entity.
On the 5th, Artist Company announced through an official press release, "We have signed a merger agreement with Artist United," adding, "The collaboration between Artist Company, known for professional actor management, and Artist United, with its strong production and distribution capabilities, is expected to create a powerful synergy."
Artist Company is a specialized actor management agency representing stars such as Ahn Sung-ki, Lee Jung-jae, Jung Woo-sung, Yum Jung-ah, Park Hae-jin, Kim Jong-soo, Park So-dam, Bae Sung-woo, Lim Ji-yeon, Shin Jung-geun, Kim Joon-han, Park Hoon, Won Jin-ah, Go Ah-sung, Pyo Ji-hoon, Kim Hye-yoon, Jo Yi-hyun, Jang Dong-joo, Cha Rae-hyung, Choi Kyung-hoon, and Yoo Jung-hoo. The company has also produced content like the global OTT Netflix series 'The Silent Sea' (written by Park Eun-kyo, directed by Choi Hang-yong), the ENA drama 'Say You Love Me' (written by Kim Min-jung, directed by Kim Yoon-jin), and the film 'Hunt' (directed by Lee Jung-jae).
Last year, Artist United, a KOSDAQ-listed company based on an AI big data platform, saw Lee Jung-jae, a director of Artist Company, become its largest shareholder. Recently, it acquired Artist Studio (formerly RaemongRaein), known for creating killer content like 'Reborn Rich' and 'Death to Snow White,' establishing a foundation for producing diverse genres of content.
Additionally, Artist United has strengthened its production and distribution sector by starting with the distribution of the film 'She Died' (directed by Kim Se-hwi) this year, followed by the production of the drama 'Salon de Holmes,' based on a novel of the same name, and co-distributing the upcoming film 'One Win' (directed by Shin Yeon-shik), starring Song Kang-ho and Park Jung-min. Collaborations with top-tier domestic artists and brands through the commerce business sector are also highly anticipated.
Artist Company stated, "With the merger with Artist United, Artist Company aims to achieve meaningful results through various challenges in domestic and international markets, fostering a healthy industry culture and establishing itself as a comprehensive entertainment representative of K-content."
Artist United added, "Together with Artist Company, we will create diverse content loved domestically and internationally, growing into a company that maximizes the value of artists, businesses, and shareholders."
