Lee Se-young Discusses Chemistry with Kentaro Sakaguchi in 'What Comes After Love'
Actress Lee Se-young shared her thoughts on working with Kentaro Sakaguchi.
On the afternoon of the 19th, at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, Lee Se-young, the lead actress of the Coupang Play series 'What Comes After Love,' sat down for an interview.
'What Comes After Love' (directed by Moon Hyun-sung) is an emotional melodrama that tells the story of 'Hong,' a woman who has forgotten everything after a fateful love ends, and 'Jun-go,' a man full of regrets.
During the interview, Lee Se-young mentioned her chemistry with the famous Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi. She said, "(Kentaro Sakaguchi) agreed to join the project when it was decided to make it a movie instead of a drama. I've known him well since I was young, and he has that typical Japanese senior-like, nostalgic first love image. I thought he would be perfect for the role of Jun-go and was looking forward to it." Lee Se-young added, "I thought everyone in Korea knew him because he's famous, but some people didn't. That was surprising. Actors usually know about various works. I was aware of Kentaro, who consistently works in various genres, and I rewatched his works while preparing for this project."
Recalling her first meeting with Sakaguchi, she said, "When I first met him, he looked just like he does on screen, but he wasn't playful. He seemed youthful and pure. He appeared free and unbound. He was playful, very clean, and pure. I thought he had a very kind heart."
'What Comes After Love' is set to premiere on Coupang Play at 8 PM on the 27th.
