Prosecutors requested four years in prison for Yoo Ah-in, who is accused of drug use.
The prosecution requested four years in prison for actor Yoo Ah-in (38, real name Eom Hong-sik), who was indicted on charges of habitual drug use.

On the 24th, the 25th Criminal Settlement Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Chief Judge Ji Gwi-yeon) held a decision trial for Yoo Ah-in and one other person who were indicted on charges of violation of the Narcotics Control Act (hypopathy).

The prosecution asked the court to sentence Mr. Yoo to four years in prison. The prosecution said, "As a famous celebrity, the defendant used his financial power and professional advantage to deceive doctors and spend about 500 million won worth of money to habitually obtain illegal drugs for medical use. He also used a closed personal network to inhale drugs from overseas. Famous celebrity." He explained the reason for his sentencing by saying, “Because I have made confident remarks, my social responsibility is enormous, but based on the evidence, the defendant Yoo Ah-in and his acquaintance Choi were busy covering up their own crimes with their social influence.”

In addition, it was pointed out that "the nature of the crime is extremely low, as he downplayed and interfered with the criminal justice system of the Republic of Korea by using social influence to silence him, making him not comply with the investigation, and causing witnesses to flee abroad and intimidate them."

Yoo Ah-in is accused of administering medical propofol 181 times between September 2020 and March 2022 under the pretext of sedative anesthesia for cosmetic procedures. The medical drugs confirmed to have been taken by Yoo Ah-in are known to be four types: propofol, midazolam, ketamine, and remimazolam. Yoo Ah-in is also accused of purchasing illegal prescriptions for sleeping pills in the name of others 44 times from May 2021 to August 2022.

The prosecution requested arrest warrants from the court twice in May and September of last year, but both were dismissed, and Mr. Yoo and Mr. Choi were indicted without detention.
