‘Japanese trend’ Seventeen records 11th Japanese ‘double platinum’ record

Group Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, Mingyu, The8, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) added the 'Double Platinum' certification awarded by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan on the 10th, Seventeen's best album '17 IS RIGHT HERE' received a gold disc 'double platinum' certification for cumulative shipments exceeding 500,000 copies as of May.

The Recording Industry Association of Japan gives gold disc certifications based on cumulative album shipments each month, categorizing them into gold (more than 100,000 copies), platinum (more than 250,000 copies), and double platinum (more than 500,000 copies). This is the 20th time that Seventeen has received a gold disc certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, of which 11 have received double platinum or higher certification.

'17 IS RIGHT HERE' also ranked second in both the 'Hot Albums' and 'Top Album Sales' categories of the recently announced Billboard Japan 'First Half of 2024 Chart'. This is the highest ranking for a K-pop album on each chart.

Seventeen's huge popularity can be confirmed offline as well. Last May, they held 'SEVENTEEN TOUR 'FOLLOW' AGAIN TO JAPAN' at Yanmar Stadium Nagai and Kanagawa Nissan Stadium in Osaka, Japan, attracting approximately 254,000 audiences. In addition to the performance, about 40 companies and organizations participated in 'SEVENTEEN 'FOLLOW' THE CITY' held in Osaka and Yokohama, creating a huge economic effect.
