BTS → Bibi, the reason why their story loved by American Talk Show

‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ is a talk show hosted by American pop star Kelly Clarkson. The program, which invites world-famous actors and singers to chat, has won several Emmy Awards, America's most prestigious TV awards ceremony.

The group BTS and its members Jungkook, Jimin, and Suga each appeared as soloists on the 'Jimmy Fallon Show', which is widely known in Korea. In particular, Jungkook appeared on the 'Jimmy Fallon Show' in November last year and made the audience laugh with his sly talk, becoming a global topic of discussion.
When asked by host Jimmy Fallon what he was most afraid of, Jungkook paused and said, "When I was young, I was afraid of microwave ovens. I was afraid they would explode," and then added, "I'm still like that now." He said, "I don't know. Don't you think it's going to explode?" and expressed it with body language, making people laugh.
Next, in response to Jimmy Fallon's question about an anecdote in which Jungkook fell asleep in front of 6 million viewers during a live broadcast, Jungkook said, "It seemed like ARMYs liked that. Isn't that what you would expect on a broadcast?", but added, "Honestly, I'm a little embarrassed," he said in Korean. Jimmy Fallon laughed out loud.

On this day, he revealed the behind-the-scenes footage of the world-famous festival ‘Coachella’. The host asked, "Didn't you perform on the same stage as Beyonce?" and he responded enthusiastically in English, "Isn't it Beyonce? It's crazy. Awesome." He then jokingly said, “I wanted to lick the floor of the stage where Beyonce was.”
BiBi also asked about the reason why she decided on the name 'Naked BiBi', saying, "Aren't all children born 'naked'? I decided to do it because I wanted to create such honest lyrics and music. There is also something to say to a lover. Isn’t that like saying, ‘Take off your clothes?’” he jokingly said, making people burst into laughter.

Kelly Clarkson had difficulty pronouncing the members' names while introducing them one by one. He joked, "I'm sorry if my pronunciation is not correct. I'm a Texan," but showed sincerity by asking the interpreter for the correct pronunciation several times.
In particular, Kelly Clarkson had trouble pronouncing member Tzuyu's name. Pronounced ‘jju-yu’. The interpreter explained the Korean pronunciation, but Kelly Clarkson was confused and said, “Wait a minute, what?” After checking several times and continuing to practice, he directly asked Tzuyu about the correct pronunciation.
The growing trend of domestic artists appearing on famous American talk shows shows that not only the artists but also the program management find this attractive. From the perspective of foreign talk show producers, they can leverage the popularity of K-pop to capture viewership ratings or topicality. It is also appropriate to use it as a means to enhance the racial diversity of the cast. What the entertainment industry must now worry about is how to connect the public awareness known through talk shows with continued musical interest in K-pop.
