KBS once again announced the suspension of Kim Ho-joong from appearing on KBS due to drinking.

Singer Kim Ho-joong, who was arrested on charges of drunk driving and hit-and-run, was temporarily suspended from KBS from appearing on broadcasts, and KBS responded to a fan's petition opposing this, saying that it would be difficult to lift the suspension.

On the 5th, KBS left a response to the petition titled ‘Rebuttal to singer Kim Ho-joong’s expulsion from broadcasting’ on the viewer petition bulletin board.

KBS said, "We understand the purpose of the petition by viewers who cherish the artist and his talent and appeal for social tolerance. However, Kim Ho-joong was already arrested on the 24th of last month on charges of 'drunken hit-and-run' and the person involved admitted to drunk driving, and the popular celebrity In a situation where social and public attention and concerns are concentrated, KBS understands that we, KBS, have no choice but to take a series of measures, especially considering that his illegal actions have a significant impact on the sound character formation and emotional development of children and adolescents. “I hope,” he said.

He continued, "If a celebrity with great social and public influence causes controversy due to illegal acts such as sexual violence, drunk driving, or drugs, KBS can hold a Broadcasting Appearance Regulation Review Committee to decide on broadcasting appearance regulations depending on the severity of the case and the level of legal punishment. “We are making sure that happens,” he said. He added, "We would like to inform you that this is a temporary measure before a legal judgment is made, and that the level of regulation may be strengthened or lifted through reconsideration depending on the outcome of the later trial."

On the 29th of last month, KBS held a Broadcasting Appearance Regulation Review Committee and temporarily suspended Kim Ho-joong, who was arrested for drunk driving and hit-and-run, from appearing on broadcasts. The broadcast in which Kim Ho-joong appeared also had its replays and VODs removed, and the use of the OST was also discontinued.

Kim Ho-jung is suspected of running away after drinking alcohol and driving a car at around 11:40 pm on the 9th of last month, crashing into a taxi on the opposite road in Apgujeong-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He was arrested on the 24th of last month.
