Yoo Jae-seok ‘buys his own home’ after 15 years

Broadcaster Yoo Jae-seok ended his 15-year lease.

According to the Supreme Court registry office on the 21st, Yoo Jae-seok completed the transfer of ownership registration for 'Brighton N40' in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu this month. It has been eight months since the sales contract for Brighton N40 in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul was signed on September 14th last year.

It is a penthouse with an exclusive area of 199㎡ (60.2 pyeong), and the selling price is KRW 8,665.7 million. It consists of 4 rooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen, and has a spacious terrace. Parking is possible for up to 5 cars, and the maintenance fee is basic. It is 1.1 million won. Actress Han Hyo-joo is also known to be living in the apartment. Since there was no separate mortgage, it is presumed that the purchase was made entirely in cash without a single loan.

It was known that Yoo Jae-seok had been living in a rented apartment in Apgujeong-dong for nearly 15 years. On tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block', Yoo Jae-seok was asked, "It seems like you do some stocks, but don't you do real estate?" to which he answered, "I know a little bit about stocks, but I don't know much about real estate, so I don't do it."

Last year, Yoo Jae-seok purchased a 298.5㎡ land area and a 275.2㎡ multi-family house (villa) located in Nonhyeon-dong for 11.6 billion won and 8.2 billion won, respectively. The purchase amount totaling 19.8 billion won was paid entirely in cash without a loan. As a result, Yoo Jae-seok spent about 28.5 billion won to prepare the Nonhyeon-dong area for work, investment, and residence.
