Comedian-turned-dealer Lee Dong-yoon was implicated in a 200 billion won Ponzi scheme.

According to the Seocho Police Station on the 1st, Mr. Yoo, the CEO of a used car sales and leasing company whose model is Lee Dong-yoon, was sued on charges of fraud on the 29th of last month.

Mr. Yoo is accused of disappearing without returning the deposit paid during the car lease contract. It was reported that the damage alone amounted to 200 billion won.

Lee Dong-yoon not only promoted this company as an advertising model, but also worked as a dealer. He apologized through the YouTube channel 'Chanadu', saying, "I'm also frustrated and feel like I'm dying. I'm sorry to everyone who trusted me and signed a contract with me." In addition, "I didn't know much about the company's system or the car because I only continued to do broadcasting. When I heard the company's system, I thought at first, 'I guess there is such a thing.' Since there have been no cases of fraud so far, the company said, 'It is happening with a decent profit structure. “He said, ‘There is,’ and because I didn’t know anything about the company’s capital, I thought, ‘It’s being run well without any damage.’”

Lee Dong-yoon said that he has sold an average of 3 vehicles a month, and has even sold up to 6 to 7 vehicles. The amount he earned through this is approximately 10 million won.

Lee Dong-yoon debuted as a comedian in KBS' 20th open recruitment in 2005 and revealed that he became a car dealer in 2020.
