Lee Chi-hyeon, sobbing over a letter from his wife’s hand

In the 6th episode of MBN's 'Fire Band', which aired on the 14th, 6 legendary bands including Love and Peace, Jeon In-kwon Band, Lee Chi-hyun and Friends, Five Fingers, Resurrection, and Kim Jong-seo Band competed in the 4th round of 'Special Thanks To', the first round after Kwon In-ha Band was eliminated. The scene of entering the contest unfolded.
The six bands began the fourth round of competition with the theme of ‘Special Thanks To’. The mission of the day was to express sincere feelings to those who have been making music for a long time and have been grateful, and the first order was the Jeon In-Kwon Band. Before the stage, Jeon In-kwon said, “Living is a repetition of overcoming adversity, being happy, and then feeling sad,” and added, “I want to express my gratitude to me and all of us who endured the dark times of the past.” He added, “Now again,” the song included in his 3rd album. ‘From’ was sung.
Jeon In-kwon's unique singing style and tone were added to the fantastic performance of Jeong Hyun-cheol and Jang Jae-hwan's 'guitar duo', providing an overwhelming sense of immersion. After the performance, Kim Jeong-wook (bass) said, "(This time) my mind about playing has changed. It's been a difficult time, hasn't it? “I really played with the feeling of starting over again,” he said. On a stage that must have brought comfort to the Jeon In-Kwon Band itself, the bands in the waiting room, and the evaluation team on site, MC Bae Seong-jae asked for a word, saying, “I think today’s younger generation will also be comforted.” In response, Jeon In-kwon said, “To live is to stumble for a while and then learn how to stand up again,” and gave weighty advice, “Be happy a lot when you are happy.” Jeon In-Kwon Band's touching performance received 152 votes from the 'Firework Evaluation Team', and Five Fingers came out as the second runner.
Although they were in jeopardy due to poor performance in the beginning, Five Fingers stood tall as a 'silent powerhouse' and is currently ranked second in cumulative votes. The five friends decided to dedicate a stage of gratitude to their long-time friend and member, vocalist Lim Hyung-soon, and surprised Lim Hyung-soon. It made me surprised. Lim Hyung-soon was surprised and dumbfounded by the song 'Jjin', saying, "I had no idea," and Lee Doo-heon said, "I composed 'Red Roses on Wednesday' to match Lim Hyung-soon's vocals, but Lim Hyung-soon gave in and I ended up singing this song." I confessed my relationship. Lee Doo-heon said, “When I was in school, I was traumatized by a teacher’s harsh criticism of my singing, so I couldn’t sing, but ‘Red Roses on Wednesday’ was an opportunity for me to sing again. “Lim Hyung-sun is the person who gave me my voice as a singer,” he said, expressing his gratitude.
After a while, Five Fingers heated up the scene by rhythmically recreating 'Red Roses on Wednesday' in a 'jazz rock' style. While the sophisticated arrangement and high-quality performance left a deep impression, photos of Five Fingers in their youth were even displayed behind the stage, adding to the emotion. After the performance, Lee Doo-heon continued the surprise event of gifting a new song, saying, “I haven’t written a song to suit (Lim Hyeong-soon) since 35 years ago.” When Lee Doo-heon handed over the sheet music written in pencil, Lim Hyeong-soon said, “The first time I received this kind of sheet music was in 1984. It hasn't changed. “It’s the same,” he said with tears in his eyes, unable to take his eyes off the score. Lee Doo-heon said, “The lyrics say, ‘The time I was there was because you were there.’ “I think the time I was there for nearly 40 years was because of Lim Hyeong-sun,” he said.
Lim Hyeong-sun looked at the sheet music and listened to her friends play, and shed tears, saying, “Thank you so much.” He also boasted of his deep friendship, saying, “Five Fingers is an eternal friend and band that is not only part of our music life, but our lives as well.” Five Fingers, who met at Nakwon Shopping Center and have been together for 40 years, smiled and said, “It’s good just to see our faces.” Looking at the five friends whose hearts have not changed over time, Bae Seong-jae described it as “high-class friendship,” and other bands watching this also wiped away tears. The 'Firework Evaluation Team' was also moved by the friendship of the Five Fingers and cast 149 votes.
The final runners were Lee Chi-hyun and friends, who narrowly avoided elimination by ranking '6th in cumulative votes'. Lee Chi-hyeon said, “There is nowhere to go further. “There is nothing left but to go up,” he said, dedicating ‘Special Thanks To’ to his wife, whom he married after 10 years of dating. He went on stage with the story, "When I was semi-obscure and poor, I only had 5,000 won for my wife's birthday," and selected 'Only You', which he made as a gift by putting music to the text he had written while gifting a printing press. . Other bands also praised the romantic stage, which featured Lee Chi-hyun's sweet vocals and images of Lee Chi-hyun and his wife from their dating days on the screen, saying, "The lyrics are so good and beautiful," and "Lee Chi-hyun is good at soft songs."
Lee Chi-hyun conveyed his wife's silent reaction when he told her he was doing this song, but also expressed his affection, saying, "She's a warm person on the inside." Bae Seong-jae then read the handwritten letter his wife had sent on his behalf, saying, “I think my wife had a story she wanted to tell.” Lee Chi-hyun shed tears uncontrollably after hearing his wife's touching message. Lee Chi-hyun expressed his feelings for his wife, who had been by his side since he was an unknown, saying, “I’m sorry for putting you through so much trouble,” and even the audience watching cried.
Did Lee Chi-hyun's sincerity come through? Lee Chi-hyun and his friends rose to first place with 179 votes. This is the highest number of votes they received in all rounds. Cheon Sang-yong (keyboard) cheered, saying, “This is my first time feeling it,” and Lee Chi-hyeon also expressed relief, saying, “I was always in last place, but I avoided being last.”
