Writer Yaongi of the webtoon ‘True Beauty’ was caught up in suspicions of tax evasion.

On the 9th, Yonhap News TV reported that the National Tax Service is investigating about 80 people, including celebrities, webtoon writers, and YouTubers, on charges of tax evasion.

In particular, it was reported that Mr. A, a popular webtoon writer, bought a supercar worth hundreds of millions of won with company money. Additionally, it was reported that Mr. A evaded value-added tax by supplying copyrighted works to a corporation and failing to issue a tax invoice.

The problem is that the reported webtoon author is being pointed out as the author of Yaongi. Among the footage from the report, a woman is posing in front of a supercar. This photo can be found on artist Yaongi's SNS, and the woman in the mosaic is 'author Yaongi.'

In fact, author Yaongi sold company F’s supercar for 400 million won last year. At the time, writer Yaongi said, "Now the 400 million won supercar tag will be dropped. Actually, that's not the reason. It hasn't been driven once for over 3 months and it's been neglected so much that I decided to let it go so that it can find a good owner." .

Meanwhile, author Yaongi married Jeon Seon-wook, author of the webtoon 'Free Draw', in December last year.
