Park Hae-soo "'Faust' started with a nightmare, but became a new world"

On the afternoon of the 21st, a press conference for the play 'Faust' was held at the LG Arts Center Seoul in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Actors Yoo In-chon, Park Hae-soo, Park Eun-seok, Won Jin-ah, and director Yang Jeong-woong attended the event.
'Faust' is a reinterpretation of the play completed over 60 years by the great German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Through Faust's imperfect actions and choices, direction and inspiration for an imperfect life are presented.
In the play, Park Hae-soo plays Mephisto. Mephisto is a character who brings pleasure to Faust and will do anything to bring about his destruction and corruption.
On this day, Park Hae-soo said, "Five years have passed (since I stood on stage). I was desperately thinking about the stage. At that time, I met my role through my work in the media. Now I can stand on the stage again. “I wondered myself what the reason might be,” he said.
He continued, "I felt like 'Faust' came to me. It felt like the work I needed came to me. The bigger thing was that I wanted to stand on stage with the Traveler family, LG Arts Center director Yang Jeong-woong, and Yoo In-chon." added.
Park Hae-soo explained, "I am both grateful and scared because I am Mephist in Goethe's Faust. I started with Nightmare with difficulty from the beginning, knowing that the role was not an easy one. I am living in a new world with enjoyable nightmares."
He also said, "I want to play on stage with the traveler family and director Yang Jeong-woong, who delve into Goethe's world view together. It's an amazing and mysterious experience, and I'm doing my best every day."
Meanwhile, 'Faust' will open at LG Arts Center Seoul from March 31st.
