The arrest warrant for VIXX Ravi (real name Kim Won-sik, 30) was dismissed. Ravi is currently being accused of ‘evading military service’. The key to this case is whether the ‘epilepsy diagnosis certificate’ is false. If the charges are confirmed, it is possible not only to receive a prison sentence but also to undergo a re-examination and re-enlistment.

On the 6th, the Seoul Southern District Court conducted an interrogation (warrant review) of the suspect before arrest and said, "The charges are serious, but in light of the objective evidence collected so far, it is difficult to say that there is a risk of the suspect admitting the charges and running away and destroying evidence. “The warrant was dismissed.

Previously, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office's special investigation team for military service evasion requested an arrest warrant for Ravi on the 2nd. However, the court explained that since Ravi acknowledged the charge of evading military service, it did not feel the need for an arrest investigation.

Ravi's suspicion of military service exemption began with the statement of 'military service broker' A. During the police investigation, Mr. A revealed that he created a false diagnosis of epilepsy in order to downgrade Ravi's physical grade.

However, Ravi's side is claiming that "the reason he was judged unfit for active duty was not because of the 'epilepsy diagnosis'," and that "he was judged 'unfit for active duty' when he underwent his first physical examination in the first place."

Currently, physical grade determination related to military service obligations is handled by a doctor or specialist doctor specializing in military service evaluation and, in certain cases, a military doctor.

Grades 1 to 3 serve as active-duty soldiers, and Grade 4 serves as supplementary soldiers, serving as ‘social service agents.’ From level 5 and below, it becomes wartime work. From here on, only civil defense training is conducted, so it can be said to be practically ‘military exemption’.

The issue in this Ravi case is whether there was a ‘false diagnosis of epilepsy’. Epilepsy is a type of convulsive disease, and if you have had treatment for more than 1 year, you will be assessed a level 4 physical examination. If it is more than 2 years, you will receive level 5 military exemption.

If Ravi's charges of avoiding military service are found to be true, he could face prison time. According to Article 86 of the Military Service Act, a person can be sentenced to between one and five years in prison for ‘acts of deception for the purpose of avoiding or receiving a reduction in military service obligations.’ Additionally, punishment is possible even if ‘alternative service’ has ended. In addition, in case of exemption from military service, you must cancel your transfer to supplementary service and re-enlist.

As Ravi admitted to the charge of 'evading military service,' attention is being paid to whether this will lead to re-enlistment. He appears to have fallen flat on his face due to his negative actions. For that reason, the court did not take out the ‘detainment investigation’ card. Ravi's 're-enlistment scenario' is getting darker. The time to pay for your sins is approaching.
