Noje, Chuu, former trends that quickly cooled down

The popularity of the mainstream has waned. Dancer Noje and singer Chu are now old trends. The important thing is to have an unbreakable heart, but its popularity has lost its strength amid endless controversies and legal battles.

Noje and Chu have something in common. Both of them were so popular that they swept across Korea, but they suddenly disappeared due to various noises.

Noje is a dancer who became a hot topic after appearing on the Mnet entertainment program ‘Street Woman Fighter (abbreviated as Sufa).’ 'Supa' gained syndrome-like popularity, and Noje rose to stardom by taking full responsibility for the choreography of the mission song 'Hey Mama'.

However, according to recent legal sources, Noje filed a lawsuit against his agency, Starting House Co., Ltd., at the Seoul Central District Court in December last year to confirm the absence of debt. In addition, a temporary injunction was requested to suspend the effect of the exclusive contract with the agency until the lawsuit is concluded.

In response, the agency responded, "The profit sharing ratio was not finalized in the first half of last year, and when related discussions were completed, the so-called 'SNS advertising controversy' arose and we were busy trying to resolve it." Payment of settlement money was delayed due to the so-called 'advertising abuse' controversy, and the position is that Noje is more responsible for the breakdown of contracts than anything else.

Previously, in July of last year, Noje was suspected of abusive behavior through SNS advertisements. There have been claims that Noje received high advertising fees, but did not fulfill them until after the advertising season marketing deadline had passed, and deleted the posts shortly after. After the controversy over abuse of power, Noje went through a period of self-reflection without any proper entertainment activities. It is expected that it will be difficult to return again due to this settlement dispute.

In Chuu's case, the conflict between the two sides came to the surface when he filed a request for a temporary injunction against his agency, Blockberry, to suspend his exclusive contract. Blockberry divided profits with members 7 (company):3 (members) and expenses 5:5. Another problem is that the distribution ratio of profits and costs is different. Rather than subtracting costs from total sales and then dividing the profits, Blockberry divides the profits first and then deducts the costs. According to this 'post-settlement' method, if costs exceed 70% of sales, members automatically become negative.

The more the members, including Chuu, were active, the more debt they accumulated and the less motivated they were to be active. It was clearly an unfair contract from the agency.

However, the problem here was Chuu's 'controversy of backlash'. To correct the settlement problem, Chu expressed his opinions, sometimes strongly and sometimes dissatisfied, with company employees. According to the report, Chu said to Manager A, “What are you saying with just one second? I'm missing this album. “I’m not really kidding.” Also, when Director A’s reply was delayed, he said, “People don’t think about reflecting on their mistakes… and don’t reply? “Answer, answer,” he urges.

In addition, Chuu's image was shattered due to several revealed text messages. After the hit 'Bite Heart', Chuu dominated the broadcasting world with his cute and lovely image. The childlike appearance was lost due to the bitter words that remained as words. Chuu started the story to find his rights, but it backfired. For celebrities, ‘image’ is like their life.

As these two people were extremely popular, the public was quite shocked after various controversies became known. I also felt fatigued by the repetitive patterns of conflict. Noje must quickly resolve this situation, which has grown as quickly as it has grown. It is time for Noje to make the right decision in order to maintain his position as a dancer. Will Chuu be able to wash his stained image and be welcomed by the public who turned to him with 'reverse text messages'?
