Park Hyo-shin and Ock Joo-hyun musical ‘Beethoven’ confirmed for season 2
According to the production company EMK Musical Company on the 17th, the musical 'Beethoven; Season 2 of 'Beethoven Secret' will be performed at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts for just four weeks starting April 14th.
As a result, 'Beethoven' is expected to be the first original musical to be performed jointly by the Seoul Arts Center and Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, which are said to be the centers of performing arts in Korea.
'Beethoven' is a work inspired by a letter written to Unsterbliche Geliebte (Unsterbliche Geliebte), discovered among Beethoven's belongings after his death. Set between 1810 and 1812, Beethoven, in his 40s, who was recognized for his musical talent but faced the crisis of hearing loss, meets Antoni Brentano, and depicts the human Beethoven breaking away from all boundaries and restrictions and creating music drawn from within.
'Beethoven' Executive Producer Eom Hong-hyeon said, "'Beethoven' at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts plans to present a completely changed performance befitting Season 2. Not only the characters in the play but also the numbers in the work will be changed," adding, "There will be new stages that are different for each season. "Being able to present 'Beethoven' season 2 is a task that I am most looking forward to, even though it entails agony as a creator, and I “I will do my best to create a new season of ‘Beethoven’ that will satisfy the audience,” he said.
'Beethoven' Season 2, which will be performed at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts for just four weeks starting April 14, is scheduled to run for only the 45th time. We plan to express our gratitude to the audience for their great support of 'Beethoven' through various events until the end of the performance on May 15th.
