Kim Ki-soo apologizes for 'JMS imitation controversy' after 5 days
Broadcaster Kim Ki-soo (real name Kim Tae-woo, 47) apologized five days after causing controversy by imitating Christian Gospel Mission (JMS) President Jeong Myeong-seok.

Kim Ki-soo said through a media outlet on the 21st, "I never had any malicious intent," and added, "I imitated it because I also think that Jung Myung-seok is a bad person. It was never malicious or had bad intentions. If the victim “I would like to sincerely apologize to those who were secondary offenders or were uncomfortable watching,” he said, bowing his head.

The controversy was over Kim Ki-soo's actions on his personal broadcast on the 17th. Ki-su Kim placed a chicken bone between his upper lip and gums and said, "Heaven. Huh? God is me. I am the Messiah."

This action was reminiscent of Jeong Myeong-seok, the president of the currently controversial pseudo-religion JMS. Many people who saw this expressed discomfort. However, Kim Ki-soo refuted, "Why did you follow JMS? Because he's a bad guy. Because he's a dog. Why?"

Jung Myung-seok was released in February 2018 after serving 10 years in prison for crimes including sexual assault of a believer. The crime did not stop at one time. Currently, the first trial arrest in another case in which a JMS goddess is accused of quasi-rape is about to expire.

JMS was brought to the spotlight again through Netflix's 'I Am God'. Professor Kim Do-hyeong, who has followed the activities of JMS for decades, said that there are JMS believers everywhere in society and pointed out that they are an ugly group that is making society sick. As JMS is involved in numerous crimes, it is currently one of the most sensitive issues in society.

This is not the only time Kim Ki-soo has regretted his words and actions. The mention of the Gapyeong Valley murder case caused controversy. It started when I saw a fan's name 'Lee Eun-hae' during a YouTube live broadcast. ‘Lee Eun-hae’ is the name of the culprit in the Gapyeong Valley murder case. Kim Gi-su, who saw the name, said, "Why did you kill my husband? Do you want to go eat pufferfish?" There has been no apology or comment regarding this since.
