Park Soo-hong meets his brother and his wife again after being suspected of embezzlement
On the afternoon of the 19th, the 5th trial of Park Soo-hong's older brother and his wife, who were indicted on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement), will be held at the Seoul Western District Court's Criminal Settlement Division 11 (Chief Judge Bae Seong-joong). Park Soo-hong will appear as a witness in the 5th trial following the 4th trial. Park Soo-hong attended the fourth trial and testified for about two hours regarding the indictment.
It is highly likely that today's trial will be held behind closed doors. Park Soo-hong’s legal representative requested a closed trial and said, “There were too many false and malicious slanders that were unrelated to the issue in the last 4th trial. “We had to apply for a closed trial to protect the victims,” he said. Also, at this hearing, he will appear without expressing his position.
Park Soo-hong plans to directly reveal the damage suffered by his brother and his wife through witness interrogation. In addition to the embezzlement of Park Soo-hong's personal bank account, it is expected that the facts regarding the embezzlement of corporate funds will be confirmed.
When Park Soo-hong was asked at the last trial whether he wanted punishment, he was angry and said, "I strongly want punishment. I made you believe that you would protect me and protect my assets over the years, but you deceived me."
He said, “Even after I found out about this incident, I told the defendants until the end, ‘We are family, so let’s resolve it amicably,’ but they avoided it for a year by saying, ‘I don’t have any money,’ ‘I have enteritis,’ and ‘I’m resting in the countryside.’ They said it would take 4 to 5 years to change tax accountants and retrieve all past data. “That’s when I decided to sue.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Park and his wife are suspected of embezzling Park Soo-hong's appearance fees worth 6.2 billion won while running two entertainment agencies, including Lael and Mediaboom, for 10 years from 2011 to 2021.
The prosecution alleged that his older brother, Mr. Park, embezzled 1.17 billion won for the purpose of purchasing real estate, 90 million won for unauthorized use of other funds, 90 million won for use of agency credit cards, 2.9 billion won for unauthorized withdrawals from the complainant's personal account, and 1.9 billion won for salary remittance using false employee registration. I suspect it is.
Mr. Park was indicted while in custody, but was released on the 7th when the detention period expired. He is currently being tried without detention along with his wife.
