On the afternoon of the 27th, a production presentation for KBS 2TV's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Accidentally Encountered You' was held at The Saint, D Cube City, Guro-gu, Seoul. Actors Kim Dong-wook, Jin Ki-joo, Seo Ji-hye, Lee Won-jeong, and director Kang Soo-yeon attended.

'Accidentally Encountered You' is a time travel story of a man and a woman who were trapped in 1987. Yoon Hae-jun (played by Kim Dong-wook) and Baek Yoon-young (played by Jin Ki-joo) set out to find the truth about a past serial murder case and realize that their goals are connected. It is a work depicting an unfolding story.

Director Kang Soo-yeon and writer Baek So-yeon's third collaboration, 'You, the One I Met by Chance'. Director Kang said, "I didn't want to do it at first because the writer said it was a time slip story. There have already been a lot of good works out there and I thought it was boring, but the writer said it was a story about going back to your mother's childhood and becoming friends with her mother, so I was hooked." He told us the reason why it happened.

There are several works based on time slip. What is the difference between ‘You, the One I Met by Chance’? Director Kang said, "Previous time slip works use fantasy devices or go back to the past by chance, but ours is different in that there is a specific vehicle called a time machine. If the time machine breaks down, it cannot go back, and it is fun to figure out how it was made. “There is,” he said.

Kim Dong-wook played the role of Yoon Hae-joon, who traveled back in time to 1987 to find the criminal who killed him. ‘I Met You by Chance’ airs on the same day and at a similar time slot as tvN’s ‘Beneficial Fraud’. Kim Dong-wook also appears in ‘Beneficial Fraud’. Originally, 'Accidentally Encountered You' was scheduled to be broadcast as a Wednesday-Thursday drama in January of this year, but KBS suspended Wednesday-Thursday dramas for the time being, so it was scheduled as a Monday-Tuesday drama.

As a result, an 'overlapping controversy' arose, and Kim Dong-wook said, "Both works are attractive. I tried to do my best in them," and added, "The important thing is that viewers see good works. I hope that both works are loved." did.

Jin Ki-joo plays Baek Yun-young, who was accidentally trapped in 1987 to prevent her mother's death. He said, “I did this work because of the 19-year-old mother who appeared before my eyes when I went there in 1987.” Then, when he read the script, he said it had an impressive narration and read the passage himself.

He continued, “It was attractive to be able to see my mother when I was young and be her friend, and to be able to watch what my mother dreamed of.”

‘Accidentally Encountered You’ is a period drama following the previous work ‘Oasis’. Director Kang said, “It’s a bit of a burden,” but added, “But the texture is different. We tried to handle it in a modern way. We invested a lot in building our own open set and capturing the townscape of the time. We tried to bring it to life vividly, and we were satisfied. “I was confident that the results were satisfactory.”

‘Accidentally Encountered You’ will be aired for the first time on the 1st of next month.
