Lee Joo-seung, Son Woo-hyun, and VIXX's Leo appear in Korea's premiere play 'Teveland'

On the 27th, the production company Shownote revealed the cast lineup for the premiere of the play 'Teveland', which will open at Chungmu Arts Center's Black Theater on June 28. 'Thebeland' is a work created by Uruguayan playwright Sergio Blanco, inspired by the myth of Oedipus, the king of Thebes, and tells his story through an interview with Martin, who is serving a life sentence for killing his father. It tells the story of S, a playwright preparing for a play, and Federico, who goes on stage as Martin.
'Thebeland' solves questions about the disconnection and continuity of human relationships, the boundaries between art and reality, and truth and fiction, sometimes witty and sometimes profoundly, through the appearances and relationships of three characters that change over time. In their conversation, exciting stories unfold across a variety of topics, including mythology, literature, music, dramatic arts, and sports.
Lee Seok-jun, Jeong Hee-tae, and Gil Eun-seong were named among the playwrights who planned to publish works on the theme of parricide. Next, Lee Joo-seung, Son Woo-hyun, and Jeong Taek-woon will play two roles: Martin, who is in prison for murdering his father, and actor Federico, who takes the stage as Martin.

Gil Eun-seong said, "I was thrilled when I first read 'Teveland.' The material of the work, the challenging stage direction, and meeting director Shin Yu-cheong, whom I wanted to work with at least once, gave me courage. That's why I wrote 'Tebeland.' “I think it will be a very meaningful challenge. I feel very grateful to be able to participate in such a good work.” Lee Joo-seung said, "After reading 'Teveland' for the first time, I was in a refreshing shock, and as soon as I read it, I thought, 'I definitely want to participate in this work.' I'm looking forward to working with the creative team who gives me a new and mysterious shock in each work. “I will do my best to portray my character well,” he said.
Son Woo-hyun said, "As soon as I read the script for 'Teveland', I was happy to meet a really attractive story and characters. As this is my first theater production in a long time, I am very excited and looking forward to it. I want to prepare well and present a good work to the audience in the summer of 2023." did. Jeong Taek-woon (Leo) said, "I am so excited and looking forward to my first play challenge with 'Tebeland.' I fell in love with acting through musicals, and there was some pressure because 'Tebeland' was a two-person play, but as soon as I read the script, I knew I would miss it. “It is an impossible project. I will prepare well and show a good performance,” he said.
Directed by Shin Yoo-cheong, who won the Baeksang Theater Award at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards, presenting in-depth performances in each performance, including the plays 'Scorched Love' and 'Angels in America'. Director Shin Yoo-cheong said, “I think 'Teveland' is a work that leads us into infinite space and eternal time.” He continued, "This work depicts true humans in a unique way. As I reflect on everything that exists between me and you, I encounter the most mysterious thing that can be found in others. The most mysterious thing in life is what is by my side, whatever it is." “You will be able to see that it is discovered through neighbors,” he said.
