Min Woo-hyuk's 'Hero' surpasses 1 million cumulative audiences

In December of last year, the musical “Hero,” which returned after 3 years, ended its 5-month journey at Blue Square Shinhan Card Hall on the 21st.
'Hero' opened with a splendid opening to the grand opening of the LG Art Center Seoul performance in February and ended with favorable reviews. In this Blue Square performance, enthusiastic applause and praise continued again, proving the syndrome that does not cool down.
In particular, this season's 'Hero' expanded its contents to a musical film 13 years after its premiere, and achieved an explosive synergy by simultaneously releasing the film. The movie attracted 3.26 million cumulative audiences thanks to the collaboration of outstanding actors, including actor Jung Sung-hwa, who also starred in musicals, and director Yoon Je-gyun. As such, 'Hero', which achieved tangible results with the case of 'one source multi-use', implemented this flow from musical to film for the first time, showing an encouraging signal to the expandability of musicals.
As such, 'Hero' created a consumption system that connects theaters, movie theaters, and living rooms, proving the possibility of influx of new audiences beyond the existing maniac audiences, and portraying a unique scene where various generations, from teenagers to families and middle-aged people, visit the theater together.
In March, the number of cumulative audiences exceeded 1 million during Blue Square performances, leaving a new mark in the history of Korean musicals. This is a record set 14 years after its premiere in October 2009, and 'Hero' became the second million-seller among domestic large-scale creative musicals, following 'Empress Myeongseong'. In addition, Jung Sung-hwa, who appeared as 'Ahn Jung-geun' for a total of 7 seasons from the same period and premiere, added more special meaning to the ninth season by surpassing 300 individual performances.
In addition, about 60 actors, including Jung Sung-hwa, Yang Jun-mo, Min Woo-hyuk and Kim Do-hyeong, Seo Young-joo, Choi Min-cheol, Jung Jae-eun and Lindsey, received great applause from the audience at every performance with excellent acting and singing skills worthy of Korea's representative musical actors.
