'Drug Episode 30' Don Spike, sentenced to 2 years in prison in 2nd trial Arrested in court

At 10:00 am on the 15th, the second trial for Don Spike was held at the 3rd Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court (Chief Judge Lee Chang-hyung, Lee Jae-chan, Nam Ki-jeong). The judge sentenced Don Spike to two years in prison and ordered him to attend 80 hours of drug treatment lectures.
The court judged that Don Spike admitted to the crime and was reflecting on it, but it was sentenced as such in consideration of equity with accomplices. The court judged, "Considering fairness with the same criminal who administered methamphetamine several times and cooperated in the arrangement, the defendant's crime cannot be said to be lighter than that of the accomplice."

Don Spike was arrested and indicted in October of last year on charges of buying 45 million won worth of methamphetamine on nine occasions from the end of 2021 and administering it 14 times. He is also accused of handing over meth and ecstasy to other people 7 times and possessing 20 grams of meth. This amounts to about 667 doses based on the usual dose of methamphetamine (0.03g).
The first trial sentenced Don Spike to three years in prison and five years probation. At the time, the judge explained the reason for the suspension of execution, saying, "It seems that there is a social bond that can deter recidivism, such as family members and people around them pleading for mercy."

Recently, the entertainment industry has been stained with drug allegations against several celebrities. Actor Yoo Ah-in, singer Nam Tae-hyun from group Winner, and influencer Seo Min-jae from Channel A's 'Heart Signal' have all been accused of taking drugs.
