Former national short track speed skater Kwak Yoon-gi has opened up about his stance on tattoos.
On the 4th, Kwak Yoon-gi posted a video on his social media with the brief caption, "Absolutely not." The video shows Kwak visiting a tattoo removal shop to undergo the procedure. He revealed, "I have been removing my tattoos for three years now."
Kwak explained, "When I was younger, I thought tattoos were cool," adding, "But when I found myself wearing long sleeves even in hot weather, I decided to remove them." He continued, "Getting a tattoo is quick, but removing it takes a really long time. Even with numbing cream, it's incredibly painful, and you can smell the burning."
He emphasized, "Personally, I think natural skin is the best. It's even better if it's a body built through exercise," and reiterated, "Never get a tattoo."
Meanwhile, Kwak Yoon-gi retired last April after a 30-year career as an athlete. He is currently actively engaging with the public through his YouTube and other personal channels.
