Comedian Lee Guk-joo candidly shared her reasons for joining a new agency.
On the 4th, a video titled 'Lee Guk-joo's Korean Daily Vlog: Celebrity Moment After a Long Time' was uploaded to her YouTube channel.
In the video, Lee Guk-joo participated in a profile photo shoot for the first time in about 10 years. After receiving professional makeup, she expressed satisfaction, saying, "No matter how well I do it myself, it's different from a shop."
During the shoot, she joked, "You are seeing the best of Lee Guk-joo right now. This is the best I can do. I don't have much of a celebrity life these days, so when else would I get to do this?"
After the shoot, she had a meal with the new agency's CEO. During the meal, Lee Guk-joo asked, "Why did you bring me into a company that only has actors like Choi Jin-hyuk?"
CEO Seo humorously replied, "It happened while drinking," causing laughter. Lee Guk-joo added humorously, "I was brought in because I'm so pretty, lovely, hardworking, and good," creating a self-made compliment.
Lee Guk-joo revealed, "I met with the CEOs about three times when I was alone after leaving my previous company. They first proposed, 'Let's work together.'" She continued, "At my age, I should be getting a proposal from a boyfriend, but I got one from the CEO. I was thrilled by the words 'Let's work together.'"
She also openly shared her concerns as a comedian with 20 years of experience. "There aren't many companies that would take me. I've done as much as I can, and they might think I'm stubborn, so it would have been a difficult choice," she said, emphasizing, "But this company approached me on a personal level."
CEO Seo also explained the reason for choosing Lee Guk-joo, saying, "Communication was excellent during the three meetings. It was an adventure for us too, but that was the biggest reason."
Meanwhile, Lee Guk-joo, who had been living in Japan, signed an exclusive contract with ANIC ENT, an agency specializing in actors like Lee Jung-eun and Choi Jin-hyuk, in October last year.
