Actor Jung Yi-chan Shares Experience Working with Renowned Writer Im Sung-han
Actor Jung Yi-chan expressed his thoughts on collaborating with the renowned writer Im Sung-han, often referred to as the 'Queen of Makjang'.

On the 27th, at the TenAsia office in Chungjeong-ro, Seoul, we met with Jung Yi-chan, the lead actor of TV Chosun's weekend drama 'Dr. Shin', directed by Lee Seung-hoon.

Jung Yi-chan, in his first leading role, worked with Im Sung-han, known as the 'Queen of Makjang'. He portrayed the character Shin Ju-shin, a genius doctor and a leading authority on brain surgery.

The drama gained significant attention for its bold storyline involving 'brain change'. How did those around Jung Yi-chan react to his role as the chief surgeon? He shared, "Friends who know me found Ju-shin's straightforward and unique lines amusing."

Jung Yi-chan added, "I watched it with my family, and since they couldn't see my usual self, my parents really enjoyed it. They even commented that I seemed like a mad doctor." He continued, "As Ju-shin's emotions evolved with each episode, I felt proud seeing the viewers' reactions change accordingly."

With Im Sung-han's return after three years, Jung Yi-chan earned the nickname 'Im Sung-han's Man'. Appearing at the interview with his long hair cut short, he explained why he was chosen by the writer: "I was thinner during the audition. Although the writer didn't explicitly say why I was chosen, the director mentioned it might be due to my cold facial expression and deep voice."

Meanwhile, 'Dr. Shin' is a medical thriller melodrama about a genius doctor dealing with the aftermath of an accident involving the woman he loves.
